LEGO(R) Reptiles
Secured 10,000 supports, confirming entry into the 2024 1st LEGO Ideas Product Review. LEGO REPTILES: LEGO IDEAS Official
Crafted in lifelike full scale using LEGO(R)s, showcasing three types of reptiles often kept as pets.
Veiled Chameleon
The Veiled Chameleon, native to the Arabian Peninsula, derives its name from its protuberance resembling a veil.
This creation includes the chameleon body and a tree branch. Chameleons are known for their color changes, depicted here using several shades of green tiles.
According to the creator, chameleons change color not only for camouflage but also for emotional expression, stress, and asserting their position. However, there are various theories including temperature regulation and camouflage.
Leopard Gecko
Native to Afghanistan, the Leopard Gecko is characterized by its yellow body with black spots. This creation features a yellow body with black tiles forming leopard-like patterns.
Commonly referred to as “Leopard Gecko” in English, it is often called “Leopard” even in Japan.
Box Turtle
A colorful turtle with orange and black patterns. This creation represents the raised parts of the shell with black and orange mountain pieces, the scales on the legs using quarter tiles, and the eyes with gold ring pieces. According to the creator, box turtles are related to tortoises.
How Likely Is It to Be Produced?
The creator, legotruman, is a regular in the LEGO® Ideas competition, with this entry marking their 17th time advancing to the review stage.
Animals have been a category that the LEGO® Group has recently focused on for product development, but reptiles are less represented. While dragons are frequently produced, when it comes to real animals, crocodiles and dinosaurs are among the few recent examples.
Given the compatibility of LEGO® bricks with the characteristic scales of reptiles, they could be strong contenders.
Summary Page of 2024 1st Review Entry
The entries that have advanced to the 2024 1st review are scheduled to be released as LEGO® Ideas new products between 2024 and 2025.
