In the LEGO(R) Ideas project, which turns fan-made LEGO(R) brick creations into official products, the project “Jumanji: The Board Game” by Airbricks95 has earned 10,000 supporters and advanced to the product review stage. If it passes the review, it could become an official LEGO(R) set between 2026 and 2027. This marks the creator’s fifth time reaching the review phase.
Jumanji: The Board Game
This build is a faithful LEGO(R) recreation of the iconic wooden board game featured in the film. It comes in a hinged, box-style design resembling wood, with the word “JUMANJI” engraved on the lid?almost as if you can hear the film’s eerie drumbeats just by looking at it.
The project also includes the game pieces that play key roles in the film, carefully recreated in LEGO(R) form. Animal-themed tokens such as an elephant, gorilla, and rhino are included, as well as the dice that determine players’ fate?each tiny piece capturing the suspenseful tone of the movie.
*Jumanji* is a 1995 American adventure-fantasy film starring the late Robin Williams. Directed by Joe Johnston and based on the picture book by Chris Van Allsburg, the story captivated audiences with its wild premise?bringing the chaos of a magical board game into the real world.
The film’s legacy has continued for decades, with the franchise rebooted through *Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle* (2017) and *Jumanji: The Next Level* (2019).
Starring Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black, *Welcome to the Jungle* achieved massive global success. At the time, it became Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing self-produced and distributed film, surpassing all *Spider-Man* titles to date.
Sony Pictures has already announced a U.S. release date for the upcoming sequel *Jumanji 3 (working title)*, scheduled for December 11, 2026?proof that the series’ popularity remains strong.
How Likely Is Official Release?
Although Jumanji board game projects?including other entries by Airbricks95?have made it to the review stage before, none have passed the official review so far. Still, with the franchise’s ongoing popularity and a new movie on the horizon, this could be the version that finally gets the green light for production.
