The results of the contest for gamers to create a “BRB (Be Right Back)” sign, held by the “LEGO® Ideas” project that aims to commercialize LEGO® brick fans’ creations, have been announced on the LEGO® Ideas official blog.
While the winning entries from this contest are not scheduled for production, all the works from the Grand Prize to the runners-up showcase unique characteristics typical of game-loving LEGO® brick fans, so be sure to check them out.
Grand Prize Winner: BRB – Nap Time
Creator: Bacher | Project Page
Even the toughest opponents and mightiest beasts need a break after hours of battle to recharge with a refreshing nap. It’s the perfect time to catch your breath and enjoy a cup of tea.
My BRB sign captures this moment of rest, reminding everyone that even in the heat of the game, a little downtime is essential for victory.
Runner Up: BRB Space Battle!
Creator: DreamBig27719 | Project Page
You can move the spaceship with the knob on the side.
The build takes you back to good old times when 2D games were all you wanted. It will also make you feel young again. Moreover, you can play with it and have a small fight with aliens when you are away from your keyboard.
Runner Up: In the Gaming Zone
Creator: 8mm-plastic | Project Page
You can switch between “GAMEZ” and “BRB” displays while gaming by turning the knob.
You are completely absorbed in your game, unaware of your surroundings, but those around you know. The ‘GAMEZ’ sign shows it — you’re in your gaming zone. But when you need a break, it’s just a few turns away. You crank the handle, activate a complex gear mechanism, and you’re — BRB … be right back … in your gaming zone.
Bonus Winner: “Brick” Right Back
Creator: NasqBrick | Project Page
“Brick” Right Back – This was my first thought as I read the challenge, because what can be more important than building Lego, right!?
This concludes the announcement of results. These are all unique creations that embody gamer-like ideas, and any game fan would likely want them. Feeling inspired to make your own?
