The LEGO® Group’s official online shop, “LEGO® Shop Official Store,” has confirmed that Black Friday and Insiders Weekend events will be held again in 2024.
While the dates and details have not yet been revealed, the LEGO® Shop Official Store’s special page has already announced that the year-end big events “Insiders Weekend” and “Black Friday” will be held in 2024, with promises of exciting offers and gifts.
How do the two events differ?
If it follows the pattern of previous years, the “Insiders Weekend” is likely to be held on a weekend in mid-November 2024, followed by “Black Friday” starting the following Friday.
Both are large-scale campaigns and can be considered main events for LEGO® brick fans. While both are major year-end campaigns, the Insiders Weekend is specifically for LEGO® Shop Official Store Insiders members, so it’s recommended to register now if you haven’t already.
Based on previous years’ implementations, let’s explain the LEGO® Shop Official Store’s Insiders Weekend and Black Friday.
Insiders Weekend
In 2023, it was held for two days on November 18 (Saturday) and 19 (Sunday), and was later extended to November 20 (Monday), making it a three-day event.
Purchase Bonuses (2023)
The 2023 Insiders Weekend offered three purchase bonuses: “Merlin’s Magical Laboratory (40601),” “Winter Market (40602),” and “Christmas Cookie Cutter & Mug Set (5008259).”
At the LEGO® Shop Official Store, customers can receive multiple purchase bonuses in a single transaction by meeting different conditions. It’s expected that at least two purchase bonus campaigns will be implemented this year, making it the main event of the Insiders Weekend.
Insiders Exclusive Sale (2023)
An exclusive sale for Insiders using discount coupons for popular high-priced sets started a day early on November 17 (Friday).
Sale items sold out in order of popularity, but customers had to wait until the 18th for the campaign to start to be eligible for purchase bonuses. This pattern may be repeated this year.
Double Points (2023)
LEGO® Shop Official Store points can be exchanged for exclusive non-sale items or used for discounts with My Bag.
In 2023, double points were offered on all purchases for two days on November 18 and 19.
What to Expect for This Year’s Insiders Weekend?
The 2024 Insiders Weekend is likely to feature multiple new purchase bonuses, sales, and double points on all or select items. There’s also a possibility of new big campaigns different from previous years.
LEGO® Black Friday
In 2023, it was billed as the “Biggest Black Friday Ever” and ran from November 24 (Friday) to November 27 (Monday). November 27 (Monday) was treated as Cyber Monday.
The 2023 Black Friday saw the release of the large LEGO® Marvel set “Avengers Tower (76269).” The Avengers Tower came with a limited quantity special purchase bonus “Taxi.”
Purchase Bonuses and Sales
The 2023 Black Friday purchase bonuses were the same as the Insiders Weekend: Merlin’s Magical Laboratory and Winter Market. On November 27 (Monday), Cyber Monday exclusive LEGO® Friends and LEGO® City polybag 2-pack was also given as a gift.
Large discount coupons were available for exchange until November 27. Special prices had additional offers exclusive to November 27 (Monday).
What to Expect for This Year’s Black Friday?
For 2024, we can expect the release of a large set with exclusive bonuses, multiple purchase bonus gift campaigns, and sales of around 20% off including high-priced sets. Like the Insiders Weekend, there’s a possibility of even bigger campaigns different from previous years, so stay tuned!
The large set rumored to be released this Black Friday is the British Antarctic survey ship Endurance, but this remains unconfirmed until an official announcement.
