Sequel to ‘Super Mario’ Movie Set to Release in April 2026! New Film Announced on Mario Day

On Mario Day, March 10th, a new installment, serving as a sequel to the movie “The Super Mario Brothers Movie,” was announced to be released on April 3, 2026, in many regions across the United States and the world via Nintendo’s official YouTube channel.

According to producer Shigeru Miyamoto, they are currently collaborating with Illumination, who was responsible for producing the first movie, to create the second installment. The new film aims to expand Mario’s world further, promising a bright and enjoyable storyline.

The first movie, “The Super Mario Brothers Movie,” was released on April 5, 2023, and became a massive hit, grossing over $1.36 billion worldwide.

LEGO® to Release Mario Kart

In a special Mario Day broadcast on the official LEGO® Group YouTube channel, it was announced that LEGO® products themed around Mario Kart will be released in 2025.

Both Chris Pratt, who plays Mario, and Charlie Day, who plays Luigi in “The Super Mario Brothers Movie,” have previously appeared in LEGO® movies as Emmet and Benny, respectively, showcasing their deep connection with LEGO(R)Sets.
