A hut where Miami Beach lifeguards await. The number of pieces is about 540. Equipped with life-saving equipment such as floats and life jackets.
The roof is removable, and indoors include radios, broadcast microphones, and life-saving boxes necessary for lifeguard activities.
Lifeguard hut not seen in Japan
In Japan, lifeguards have the impression that they are sitting on tall surveillance seats on the beach, and I have never seen a dedicated hut.
However, if you look online, it’s normal to have a hut like a lifeguard’s office in the United States, and the Miami Beach hut modeled by the author is especially colorful, so it’s fun just to look at it.
I think that each hut has its own personality and enjoys the design, but that hut is probably a hot topic among local young people, such as cool and dumb.
Japanese life saver (lifeguard)
I didn’t really understand the difference between a life saver and a life guard, so I did a little research, but in Japan most of them are called life savers.
It is called a lifeguard overseas, and although it seems that there is a slight difference in position from the life saver in Japan, it can be considered that it is basically the same. If you want to know more, please check by yourself.
Life saver is a private qualification
It seems that many domestic life savers are mainly qualified as life savers issued by a private organization called the Japan Life Saving Association and Red Cross Water Safety Law Rescue Workers I and II issued by the Red Cross, but they are active as life savers. Acquisition is not legally required to do so. However, qualifications are the minimum required to be hired by non-experienced people.
The association’s life saver qualification requires attendance of a special program. There are several types of programs depending on the grade of qualification, but in order to take the program, it is necessary to clear the conditions such as long-distance swimming and diving specified for each class.
Diving requires diver qualification
I used to work as a diving instructor, but it is legally required for people who are in a position to do diving to obtain national qualifications as divers.
Of course I got it too, but it was an easy win because I didn’t have any practical skills in the diver test. But if you don’t study hard, you will be rejected, so if you are thinking of getting one, study properly.

As an aside, there is a lifeguard movie called Baywatch starring my beloved action actor Dwayne Johnson (DJ). When I tried to make a DJ minifigure, I referred to the Bay Watch.
Speaking of DJ, physical beauty is a characteristic, so to appeal it, I thought that T-shirt shorts, which is clothes suitable for sports, would be good and adopted it. I think we have created a bay watch-style minifig that captures the characteristics of DJs. The face is also perfect for Dwayne Johnson and is my favorite.
However, since DJ is an all-round actor who plays various roles, recently I have come to think that it is too easy to express DJ with a T-shirt, and I am looking for another design.
Can Pass the Review?
The author adwind has released a number of genre-agnostic works. He is also the author of Home Alone, which has been decided to be commercialized.
I also love the sea, so I’d like you to commercialize it, but it may be a little plain. It will be more fun if the LEGO designers modify it.
It may be more suitable for purchaser gifts than regular products, but it is unlikely that buyer gifts will be held in competitions that are mostly dedicated these days.
As of the beginning of May 2021, A contest for purchaser gifts with the theme of the sea is being held , so I put it up there. Maybe it was better.
I like it, but I don’t think it’s a little unsatisfactory in terms of flashiness and uniqueness to commercialize it from an idea.
