A LEGO(R) brick recreation of the film *Godzilla Minus One* has reached the milestone of 10,000 supporters on LEGO(R) Ideas, advancing to the 2nd review round of 2025.
This project (Godzilla: Minus One) was created by Enr8gdBoss, marking their first time reaching the review phase. On LEGO(R) Ideas, fans from around the world submit their creations, and those that earn 10,000 votes proceed to an official review by the LEGO(R) Group. Selected designs are turned into official sets released within the following one to two years.
*Godzilla Minus One* is a Japanese film released in 2023 starring Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe. Set in postwar Japan, it tells the story of people struggling to survive against the giant monster Godzilla. It gained international acclaim and became the first Japanese film to win the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects at the 96th Oscars.
This LEGO(R) build faithfully captures one of the film’s most iconic scenes—Godzilla biting a train. The diorama features not only the gray-toned Godzilla figure but also a detailed cityscape in ruins and warships, all contributing to an immersive depiction of the movie’s world.
However, the chance of product approval appears slim. The results of the 2024 3rd review were recently announced, where another Godzilla-themed project based on the MonsterVerse was chosen for production. With two similar monster-themed projects in a row, the likelihood of this one being selected is considered low.
Nevertheless, achieving 10,000 supporters shows the strong global interest in Godzilla as a Japanese cultural icon. The results of the 2nd 2025 review are expected to be announced in the latter half of 2025.
