LEGO® Ideas Contest: “IF WE COULD TURN BACK TIME: Show Us the Retro 80s”
What Kind of Creations Can You Submitt?
The contest is seeking creations that represent the 80s.
For this contest, if it’s permitted in LEGO® Ideas, you can also submit licensed works such as TV shows and movies.
Could Studio Ghibli works be turned into products?
You can submit creations that aren’t displayed in the IP checker, but entries are subject to approval by the contest administration team.
Rewards
Up to five creations will remain for fan voting, and one will be selected for production from among them.
If your creation is selected as a fan voting candidate, you’ll also receive LEGO® Ideas products themed around past TV shows or movies as a gift.

Submission Requirements
- Submission of licensed works permitted if approved by the IP Checker. Click here to use the IP Checker/Submit Idea button
- Original new creations or entries from expired LEGO® Ideas competitions
- Up to 10 photos may be submitted
- Preferably high-quality
- Slight image manipulation using Photoshop or similar software is allowed
- Title and brief description are required
- Submission in digital format, such as Studio, is also accepted

JUDGING
The LEGO® Ideas review team’s criteria for selecting voting candidates are as follows:
- Overall coolness and originality: 25%
- Most inspired details: 25%
- Relevance to challenge theme: 25%
- Best use of LEGO elements: 25%
HOW IT WORKS
The schedule for the “IF WE COULD TURN BACK TIME Retro 80s” LEGO® Ideas Contest is as follows:
*All times are in Eastern Time (ET), USA.
- Submission Phase: April 9, 2024, 6:00 AM
- Judging Phase: After the submission deadline, the administration team will conduct judging and select up to five entries
- Voting Phase: From April 16 to April 23, 2024, user voting will take place
- Winners Announcement: Results of fan voting will be announced by June 14, 2024
