Dancing House (Prague)
Securing 10,000 supports confirms entry into the 2024 1st LEGO Ideas Product Review: DANCING HOUSE, PRAGUE: LEGO IDEAS Official
Located in the capital city of the Czech Republic, Prague, the building known as the “Dancing House” earned its name due to its appearance resembling a dancing couple.
Affectionately referred to as “Ginger & Fred” after the iconic dance duo Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.
The circular tower allows each floor’s walls to slide open, while the square building’s top floor is also slideable. Inside, there are multipurpose rooms featuring desks, meeting rooms, restrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, and more.
The complex roof, often not depicted in publicly available photos of the Dancing House, has been meticulously recreated.
You can view the actual Dancing House on Google Street View. It does indeed look like it’s dancing! Explore it from various angles.
What’s the Likelihood of Being Produced?
Designer paranoider makes their debut in this review.
Given the building’s unique resemblance to a dancing couple, there’s hope for its production. However, the real building falls under LEGO(R) Architecture, which could complicate matters, and LEGO(R) Ideas tends to avoid local subjects. Therefore, passing review might prove challenging.
That said, LEGO(R) Architecture has been focusing more on sets featuring historical landmarks lately, so there might be an opportunity for this set as well, especially considering its modern design.
